Message of the Ambassador:
Welcome to the website of the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait.
This site was renovated to give you additional information and answers to most of the questions you might have about our role. You will find different categories of information and links regarding various themes and issues treated by the Mission.
The reader can browse essential information concerning the role of the Kuwait Mission in supporting and working with the UN agencies to ensure that they can carry out their duties to promote development and peace, as well as to respond to humanitarian appeals.
The Mission works daily with many UN bodies and specialized agencies based in Geneva. This includes the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Health Organization and the International Labor Organization and many others.
The mandate of the Mission also covers non-UN international organizations involved in coordinating humanitarian operations worldwide such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the International Organization for Migration.
The Mission also handles other significant issues such as financing health operation the Global fund, to fight Aids, TB and Malaria, Climate Change with the International Meteorological Organization, promotion of democracy with The Inter-Parliamentary Union, the future of communications with International Telecommunications Organization and issues related to commerce with the World Trade Organization.
These organizations cannot carry out their tasks by their own means, thus for many years now, Kuwait has been a major donor to many of these organizations and the Kuwait Mission oversees the disbursement of these contributions.
As an information and communication tool, I hope visitors would find this site informative and easy to use. Please contact us if you need additional information.
Together with my colleagues I send you my best regards.
